The store thru the years -- starting back in Hinckley (about a 400 sq. ft. store) and moving up the street (the old store - around 900 sq. ft.) and then seeing Chris McCoy's dream materializing into the new store (over 4,000 sq.ft.) down the street from the old store. Chris was looking for food for their dog, Precious back in 2002. That's where Chris and Mark met Emy and Amy. Emy and Amy were the mother and daughter who owned the original The Natural Pet Enrichment Center. Chris started in 2005 to work with Emy and help her out at various events and organize things for her. They only carried several items back then in the store. Emy retired to be with her grandchildren. So, Chris took ownership in May, 2008. Chris moved the Hinckley location to the old store on Ridge Rd. Chris and Mark met with great success at the store on Ridge Road. Chris had her dream store in her head and kept mentally working on it for 6 years. Then the new store popped up for grabs. Chris and Mark went and checked it out and negotiated the lease. That made Chris's dream a reality! The old store location closed at 5 p.m., the team dismantled the old store and moved to the new location. We opened the new store 48 hrs. later. As you can see it is continually a work in progress -- new ideas, products, and great customers (old and new)!
The pictures below in the slide show are of the evening Grand Opening with city officials, Veterinarians, etc.
Opening Day for our customers and some of the winners of the raffle baskets! What a day and oh soooo much fun too!
Fox 8 came to interview Chris. (See the video on the home page). Here were some pics taken as they prepared to interview her and show off the store.
Long time customers were chosen to be the adoptive parents of Chance. He was found in Lorain county, shot and with a trap on his front foot, and in bad condition. An animal hospital took him in but had to amputate his leg and a few of his front toes. His new parents are helping him recover and in hopes that he will one day be a therapy dog. The store put on a fundraiser for Chance and Fox 8 came again to film Chance and his parents. It was a terrific day for everyone! Chance was exhausted at the end of the day, greeting everyone that came to see him and wish him well on his new journey with his loving new family.
Michelle (Our Primal Rep.) gave our first consumer educational talk on "Why feed Raw?" It was a very informative night and great giveaways as well as afterwards customers could shop for Primal products.
